Save game doesn't save?

This has nothing to do with the stickied post as it wasn't an update that broke this and I don't have an old save file from a backup since I've only had the game two days. Yesterday I played for a couple hours, selected save/exit and quit the game.

Started back today, played for hours, did a lot of jobs, made around $4,500, selected save/exit, didn't quit the game but went to multiplayer and then it loaded my save from yesterday...odd I thought...quit the multiplayer game without saving as I thought something was off, started single player again, and yup everything I did today is gone...what? There's no way I can play this game if it's a flip of a coin if my game will actually save or not.

I think the update has broken something as I also have the issue of saving not saving, but it has worked fine before the update never had an issue.

It might be to do with the new job. I played for half an hour earlier, just fishing and doing old jobs, and it has saved that progress.
