GTA VC Loading screen freeze

Hello, I have a problem, whenever I start up the game and load my saved game it stops/freezes at the "Loading Please Wait" screen. Then a little noise plays, after that little noise I can press spacebar which then crashes the game taking me to my home page. Then a little windows thing pops up saying "gta-vc.exe has stopped working, please wait while we find the solution". It doesnt find a solution and shuts down the game. Any solutions? Is the file corrupt? I hope not bc I'm close to beating the game.

Is it a save file from the Steam version of the game?

Also, did you install any mods? If yes, what are they?

I'm pretty sure it is a save file and no mods installed

But is your save file from the Steam version or the retail version? Because the save files of the two versions aren't compatible with each other.
