Firefighter Mission Glitching - Help/Advice?
I've been trying to beat the firefighter missions recently, but I keep having this glitch happen: I'll put out all the fires that I'm required to, but for some reason the game won't recognize they are all out. There are no other icons indicating a fire I need to put out on my map, and I am just left there to watch my timer run out and fail the mission.

I have been able to defeat this only once, and it requires me to first destroy the vehicles I had extinguished in the mission, and then make the carcasses of the vehicles disappear. Each time one of the destroyed cars disappears, I hear one of the blip noises used to indicate a successfully extinguished fire. While it sounds simple, I have to drive a ridiculous distance away from the totalled cars to make them go away. Even after managing to pull this off, I had the glitch happen again on the next level and just didn't have enough time to destroy the cars.

The level of the mission doesn't seem to make a difference in triggering this, as I've had it happen on single vehicle fire missions and multi-vehicle fire missions. I have also tried lowering my draw distance but this doesn't seem to do anything in preventing the glitch.

I do have a bunch of vehicle mods and one map mod installed in my game, but they have all been added manually (i.e. I did not use any kind of mod management program like Vice City Mod Manager). If they are the cause, I would not be surprised, but there's a chance they are not the culprit either. My game runs fine otherwise.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Does anyone know why this would happen? Any advice on getting around this? Thanks in advance.

I have also some sort of glitch on the firefighter mission, but nothing like you - or not yet. I haven't managed to get that far on it because of 'technical difficulties'.

The problem with me was that my water hose didn't reach that far (yeah, haha very funny). I had to be right in front of the cars or the people to put out the fires. I looked up a video on the mission and on there the hose could spray water really far... The water went in a straight line too whereas mine goes out in a V. I tried every button there is to change it but nothing works.

Furthermore, when I started collecting the hidden packages and saved the game after, my save file was corrupted or something, it wouldn't load anymore. I let it load for a long time and after 15 minutes I could play the save file again, but when I started a mission and it had to load it took like 3 minutes or longer to load again.

Can you post a screenshot of the water spraying like you described?

This guy "Silent" told me to enable the 'Frame Limiter' and it did the trick. My loading works as well as my water hose. Problem solved :)
