This is why i never liked playing any games on PS2 that required me to play few days to complete it. I instead played them on PC, while i played some crappy games like Spyro that i could complete in a day and such.
But if you look at some games such as Call of Duty 1 and 2 both games had an auto save options for PC version.

Yes, but the first two call of duty games at least, were PC titles first. If you have to choose a ported game, it's generally a good idea to look for one that was released on PC first, then later released on consoles. Unfortunately, this a lot rarer then it used to be.
Well im sorry Mr. Clever that i want to enjoy game instead of being like "Oh i just finished 1 mission, i should totally drive back to ocean beach safehouse to save a game, yeah totally" Man cmon, having auto save in 10 year old games would have been a great idea, which indeed occured in 10 year old games, but you know Rockstar..
