Ginput not working at all

OK, so I've downloaded Ginput and extracted all the necessary files to the GTA Vice City folder. It doesn't work at all. The controls are still totally borked; right trigger doesn't work, I can't look around - what else do I need to do? Is there something that needs to be tweaked in-game in the Options menu? Is there something that needs changing in one of the Ginput files?

You might be missing DirectX Runtime files which are required by GInput (because of XInput):

Either that, or in the end you did not install it properly - I've seen people downloading SA or III version and attempting to use that and various other mistakes, thus please doublecheck.

i am having the same issue.... cant seem to figure out how to make Ginput work for VC. It works perfectly for GTA III with zero issues. I had to do the PS2 downgrade for VC as well as a bunch of other mods to get it to work. Its running and some controls work, whereas others do not.

In the same boat as you, works perfectly with GTA III but doesn't work for VC or San Andreas for me at all. :(1

Thank you SO MUCH, this was my problem, lol the DX installer should be included with the mod.

I do not work at all, I install Ginput on SA, there is no switching control to the gamepad at all, and the gamepad itself does not seem to work

This still works fine, but the DirectX download URL has changed slightly, remove the displaylang= part:

I'm on the latest version of Windows 11 with one of the newest Xbox controllers and running Vice City with compatibility options:
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Run in 640x480 screen resolution
