EDIT:
Either that, or in the end you did not install it properly - I've seen people downloading SA or III version and attempting to use that and various other mistakes, thus please doublecheck.
In the same boat as you, works perfectly with GTA III but doesn't work for VC or San Andreas for me at all. :(1
