Stuck in storyline progression? [SOLVED]
So I managed to complete the "cop land" mission, Gave me the possibility to extract cash from my mansion and I also completed all of the cuban (and the other gangs. Including the ken paul ones) missions (with the exception of the payphone ones).

However it seems like im not getting new missions yet, im not sure if this has to do with my lack of money or the fact that I had no chances to buy new places (Or just the fact that I also need to finish the payphone missions first before the story can go on)

Any suggestions for this? Could this be a glitch of some kind, or am I doing something wrong?

Payphone missions aren't nessecary. Did you buy every possible property?

For now I only bought one but I assume I need to buy more, right?

Yes, they give you missions and most of those properties are needed for the progress of story

I see. Thanks for the heads up!

just a reminder, when you buy the strip club, you'll have to be inside that club until you spent like $300 or $400, I forgot..after that, you'll be able to collect some cash from it

You have to complete 5 assets to trigger the storyline mission. The fastest and easiest are Pole Position club, Boatyard's Checkpoint Charlie game, Sunshine Autos first set of vehicles, Cherry Popper's "Ice cream" 50 deals and Kaufman Cabs. If you need further explanation, say so.

Oh yes, one more thing. If you're not cheating, which I hope you're not, money you get from missions is not enough to buy these assets, even though they are the cheapest. The easiest way to obtain money is through Cone Crazy minigame. Just beat your time 9 times in a row. Look it up.

I used to cheat constantly as a kid when I had my PS2 version of the game....
Which I think bugged my story progression everytime after finishing the bank robbery mission and made it impossible for me to continue to the final levels.
Now im trying to play all of the GTA's without cheat. And yeah, as you said I am encountering some extreme difficulty in having enough cash to buy all of these assets (Altho I have the Ice cream factory\Pole Position\Boathouse\Taxi Company already. I also only need to finish the taxi quests aswell since I already done all of the rest).

In anycase thanks you all once again for the very usefull heads up! :)
(This has to be the very first time I can find helpfull\good people on a Steam discussion aswell)

I need to mention that, while I have checked around and people do say that its the easiest way to earn money.... I really cant seem to do it. I suppose im missing something to keep completing the time records but I barely got the thing twice....

Being stuck with a laptop keyboard and a very small screen does not help either -.-

Edit: I think I confused the dirt bike\Suv challenge with the real "cone crazy" thingie. Not sure to be honest but im checking out now

Edit2: Yes its completly different things. However it still seems very hard to me to keep beating my time record... and having to complete it sucessfully 9 TIMES since... a bit of a stretch to me. But I guess im just not good at game...

You're welcome. Don't worry, that mission is hard even for speedrunners. I would suggest then that you collect the money you get daily from completed assets to buy assets you need, but avoid buying Malibu and Film Studios as they are too expensive. While you wait for the money to generate, you can complete rampages or just drive listening to the wonderful soundtrack.

In Pole Position, I think you need to spend like 500$ or so, just enter one of the cabins and go for a break, when you return it will be completed, as I remember it does not automatically complete but you have to exit the cabin when you spend enough money (EDIT: you must spend 300$)

Boatyard - always take the left boat as it is easier to complete the mission with it.

Kaufman Cabs - standard missions, not too hard

Cherry Poppers - just go to the docks, the long street where Pay n Spray is located and start selling the drugs, whenever you wanted level raises just enter paynspray and then continue until you do 50 deals.

Sunshine Autos - deliver the first set of 5 cars to the garage, they are pretty easy to find.

I don't know if you are aware but there is a strong speedrunning community for this game, two years ago record was 2 hours to beat the final mission, now it's already getting to an hour mark. There is still a lot of tricks to be found and then 100% and all missions categories. This game still has future. Enjoy.

I just finished the game... And yeah thats pretty much what I did xD. I also did listen to the entirety of VCPR - Pressing Issues (Or whatever that radio is called). It was both amazing and hilarius and totaly worth it. And yes, the game has a -fantastic- soundtrack aswell. WIth my ultimate favourite being a good part of the "Radio Espantoso" songs :D (probably one of the best GTA radios ever).

Yeah, I love watching speed runs and apparently Vice City is quite the loved game on those comunities (What about its whole modding comunity? :D). I wouldnt limit to say that only this game has a future in all honesty....
Id say that the whole FRANCHISE has a very, very long future.... And wait till 5 finally comes to us on Steam... Oh boy :o

Yeah, but after GTA 4 I probably will not play 5 as i always choose fun factor over content. GTA 4 was bland, uninspired and something that I, coming from the Balkans cannot come to terms with, which is Niko. They hired an American actor to speak all these lines in my native language, and he utterly ruined them. Besides that, what did an immigrant from the Balkans ever acieve in the States (except from Tesla, of course). Look at what people are speedrunning, you won't find GTA 4 there. It's only III-VC-SA. Luckily.

I just guess tastes are different. De gustibus non est disputandum.

:D

I was overly disapointed with 4 myself (expecially after coming from SA..) but you never know... maybe it'll be worthy!

By the way dude, get a tank somehow, or just regular police vehicles, and start finishing those cop missions, they pay a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of cash. and you get to have 150 armor when you finish like, 13-14 of those missions. also, drive a taxi! earn money!

The only reliable way I know on how to grab a tank is by cheating and I avoided using them as I played trough. Altho im sure there are ways to obtain one without cheating.

After you finish the Cop Land mission, grab a police uniform from the station in Washington Beach and then go to Fort Baxter base, they won't shoot at you. Just enter the tank and drive. But I always prefered the Hunter helicopter :D
If you don't want to put on the police uniform for your own reasons you can start the rampage next to the military base Fort Baxter and all military guys turn into gangmembers that don't care about you and don't shoot you anymore. :D
