Freeze mid-loading (Unhandled exception: c0000005)

Hello. I am desperate to make the game works like it used to.

Here's the error I get, whenever I try to load the game. It freezes mid-loading and pops this:

 Unhandled exception: c0000005
At adress: 0048a3b1 

I tried every possible solution I could find on the net, really. It hasn't helped me.

Please if someone knows some other solutions let me know.
I am playing on Windows 10 with a GTX 1070.

EDIT: Problem fixed by downloading DDraw Component from here[gtaforums.com] and putting it in the game folder.

What do you mean by that? How could it be the problem since any other game works fine? (except for GTA III with the same kind of error)

Push it down in center push power supply cable more. Ive had this happen to me quite a lot or clean vid card connect with Eletrical cleaner it may look okay but high volta collects.

I really doubt the GC being mispluged would be the reason since any other game work just fine... I found out that Widescreen Fix might be causing the error, but I need it to make the game work else it's stuck with "Cannot find 640x480 mode" whatever I do.

Problem fixed!! I just downloaded "DDraw Component" and put it my your game folder. Now the game runs like it used to! You can get it here (second link) https://gtaforums.com/topic/669045-silentpatch/

to fix it just go into documents/GTA Vice City User Files and delete gtavc.set also go into install directory steam/steamapp/common/gta vc and right click the exe file gta-vc not the test exe and set compatibility to windows xp service pack 2 and check reduce color mode box and set it to 16 bit (65536) color and it should work fine i had the same error it has to do with compatibility on windows 8/10

Just installed WideScreen bit hub much of an improvent and color.
