From a marketing position. Rockstar will not put 2 years of development in something like this with almost no money getting back in return. Not enough people will buy it. You want to know why? Becouse we already have this version. And by the looks of it. The only thing you can expect is for rockstar to bring out a patch which optimizes this game for future systems. But that's just it.
Remaster it's not so expensive like creation new game.
Cheats are a bit hard to get working though.
And no, the game logic is tied to 30FPS. It'd take a complete re-write to get this thing running at 60FPS without issues.
They don't care. They could port over the mobile version for PC, but most people who play it have already bought it. not profitable in the slightest.
I am not totally against us making noise about what we want though, it would be amazing if the mobile remaster came to PC.
Or just do port on new engine (Rage) like Valve in Half-Life 1: Source.
Source was built off of GoldSRC, and half life 2 began development inside the half life 1 engine.
RAGE wasn't built off renderware, if it was we would be seeing red dead redemption on PC.
There are mods for GTA like Vice City RAGE, San Andreas and gta 3 RAGE.
If fans were able to port, that RockStar it should be easy peasy.)
true that
does it come with wet roads?
i really hate the GTA modding community sometimes - so many mods out there that are half-baked and misrepresent the game's original vision.
That said, Silent and ThirteenAG do some really good quality of life and graphical/gameplay restoration fixes - they're absolute legends.
and yeah ive seen the vice city in gta5 mod, it looks like its being held together with glue, everyone has bobbleheads and the physics dont look right at all, maybe that was the IV mod, i dont know. but dear god...

Have a look at this guys. This is pretty damn sick imo.
I'm only being honest, it doesn't look like a remake yet. Your artwork however is beautiful and looks like what I would want from a vice city remake. Are those still renders or is that realtime from one of the later GTA games??? Either way, that is the look you want to go for.

especially the vibe that this screenshot gives off. it looks perfect.
I wonder if there are ways to increase the poly count or impliment modern-day lighting systems into renderware? it'd probably need a complete rewrite or unofficial re-port OOF
Maybe, but it sure as hell looks better than the unmodded clean version and all the other mods that try to improve the game. I'm using this mod pack and it really improves the experience and immersion.
And thanks, but the "artwork" on my profile isn't from me. x)
I stole them from the video below, using them as "cosmetics" for my steam profile.

And here is a VFX breakdown of it, if you are interested:

are you kidding me? the original graphics of this game are beautiful. they have a well established identity, and are simple but to the point.
the remaster looks like an inconsistent mix of old and new generations of graphics. if you add realistic lighting, you have to increase the poly count to match.
i actually do a lot of work modding my games to make them look like the original vision the developers had, by erradicating the differences between console and PC versions of the game without the advantages the PC port brang
you want graphical enhancement that actually looks nice and isn't taking a ♥♥♥♥ on the game? search up trails motion blur mod by Silent (maker of silentpatch)
his mod restors the iconic motion blur from the PS2 that was removed when porting the game to PC. it also adds more realistic lighting and lens flare, and gives the game a more vibrant neon look. these are the graphics people saw when the game came out first on PS2, and they are not out of place in the game because well its actual lighting and effects made by rockstar themselves, presumably only disabled due to request by SONY or because rockstar wanted to make the game run on as many PC's as possible. it was actually a graphics option on the PC version until it was taken out.
also, that mod you showed me really screws up the character animations and the weapon aiming camera below the shoulder is very disorienting, not to mention when you walk left and right tommy shoots away from the crosshair. looks like it plays like a one-man unity engine game
i just believe game mods unless they are entirely new games made in another's engine, should try to preserve the original feel of the game, for that is where the nostalgia lies. even studio publishee remakes should try to stay faithful to the source material. there are obviously exceptions but most mods sacrifice a game's art style for pseudo-realism. just think of all those wet roads in the san andreas graphics mods. overkill.
