Race checkpoints/ markers are invisible

When I go into a racing mission the checkpoints are invisible. I can still go through them and see them in the minimap but they are invisible in the normal 3d view. I have Vice City Reborn intsalled and have tryed reinstalling, deleting the mods, and checking the integrity of game files. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Maybe the mod is interfering because I don't use any mod and I can see them just fine. Maybe delete the vc set file in the Vice City folder (the one with the saves). It changes all the settings back to default but it might help.
