Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

On the subject of... REMOVED MUSIC!
1. How much (how many tracks) of the music is CURRENTLY removed in this version?
2. Is there a simple fan patch to get all the tracks back (preferably somewhere here in the "Guides" Section)?
3. Why do different tracks have wildly different license expiration dates?
4. Are they going to cut the music out every year until no music at all is left? Wouldn't it be extremely LAUGHABLE? To themselves, first and foremost.

1. Maybe 10 or more, VC radio will be very different without MJ's songs.
2. Yes there is a patch to restore the tracks, you won't find it under the game's guide section on steam though.
3. That's just how they did their contracts back then.
4. Yes, maybe after 20 more years there won't be a single music track left on the game's radio.

EDIT:
2. Yes there is. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=641848214

I was concerned about this too and looked up the list of the removed songs and the first removed song mentioned was Billie Jean, however I got the game from the bundle last night and as soon as I got onto the faggio outside of Ken's office immediately Billie Jean started playing on the radio so it might be that the songs are removed only for certain regions.
I didn't notice any music missing here, to be honest.

Quite an exhaustive response, thank you.

Now that's interesting. I also read everywhere that Billie Jean's supposed to be cut. However, I highly doubt they've only cut it out in certain regions' versions.

Same, I also just downloaded the game, tried playing it as it is without any patch, didn't notice missing tracks. Billie Jean was still played on the radio.

Interesting... so what to make of this? "Vice City New Audio NA", huh? So they've added the music back (renewed the licences)? Why isn't community talking about this?
hmm, when i look at the keys that i got it only says Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
They did not hand out different versions, did they?

It shows the specific product name after you activate the key on steam, for me it was "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City New Audio NA (WW)" No songs seem to be removed on this version.

Yea, just looked at the email confirmation, i also have the new audio version
I remember Alan wake was pulled becuase this issue. Games shouldn't have licences that expire, movies don't have this issue.

I always thought the same thing, can you imagine watching the Godfather after that classic song's contract expired? Or some new pop song edited into the Under the Sea dance in Back to the Future? ("It's your cousin, MARVIN Perry!")

As mainstream as games have become today, I think it's less of an issue for modern ones, but it's pretty ridiculous to force a game off shelves or force an update to remove any content. Vice City's soundtrack was a huge deal when the game originally released, they made a box set with each station having it's own cd. Clearly the music is a big deal and pretty necessary to having the real, nostalgic experience these games can offer. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to mow down a schmuck of a lawyer in my pink faggio.

(Wow, we censor that word, but not faggio huh? Brilliant lawyers..)

Never occured to me before! And why that is? (movies not having to deal with it) It really doesn't make any sense to treat games any different in this respect.
