What version of Vice City is the best?

So I've heard bad things about the steam version and pirated versions all seem to lack something and/or be really unstable. So are there more versions of the game that are better?

Maybe the original retail version which was in the old boxes, which had 2 cds.
Or the steam version, but I don't own any atm so I would rather go on steam for compatibility and the old version for nostalgy.

The ps2 version of vice city is the superior version in my opinion. The steam release (including all releases after the original on ps2) have cut content, censored dialogue, tons of removed songs, inferior graphics (w/o trails) and are reletively buggy (especially the steam version).Gta 3 and San Andreas share many of the same issues with their re-releases, but luckily the ps2 versions have been untouched.

Well there were several variants of the boxed release but even that will cost me a fortune in shipping since nobody sold original disks in this country. And of course yeah I know the steam version is bad.

Also I don't have a PS2 and don't really plan on getting one. Any PC versions you'd recommend?

I had bought it myself a few days ago, and I'm 30 hours in doing missions and just doing random stuff with little to no mistakes or bugs on any missions.. it's only froze like twice at very random moments, (just like the ps2 days, so accurate) but that's about it. But when I read around, it seems a lot of people have a lot of different problems and I've yet to encounter any.
