i'm not blaming the game (it's very good), but this errors is very frustrating

You installed the game on A or B drive. Either move it somewhere else or grab SilentPatch:

ThiThis is happening to me too, but mines installed on C:\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\

Downloaded that silentpatch, installed it.. Still asking for the CD
