GTA III crashes on startup
I bought GTA Complete Pack today. I installed GTA III and now when i click play, i can watch (or skip) Rockstar logos and game intro with credits. As soon as intro ends (or i skip it), game crashes to desktop without giving any error message.

- I verified the game cache files through steam
- I added gta3 to Data Execution Prevention exceptions
- I checked Win98/ME compatibility mode on gta3.exe

Basically i went through all the solutions i found on the internet. I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

application load error 5:0000065434

I think that a lot of people are having similar issues with this game. I am also unable to launch the game, get a flash of a black screen then nothing.,

I'm having the same problem. I installed GTA III this morning, and I was able to install and run it for an hour and a half with no problems. Then later I open it, and it seems both GTA III and Vice City (which I have been able to run innumerable times) ceases to function with this error message. I have tried adding all executable files to the DEP exception list, but the only change I have noticed is that, instead of running the opening logo, now I get the error message immediately on starting the program.

I tried adding VC to the DEP exception list, and it seems that I have restored function to this game, but GTA III still remains non-functional as of now.
I am running Win 10 Pro and thanks to Infinityq's comment to a review i just read... my game now works again !!!! yay !!

all i have checked in compatabilty now is run in 98/ME compatabilty mode... nothing else is checked and the game runs fine for me!

* one errata however, i had previously added this game to the DEP exception list so that may also be helping but im not gonna change it again now coz while it aint broke... im not gonna try to fix it hahaha

i am so happy bunny, coz i couldnt get GTA Vice City to work either, but 98/ME compatability mode fixed that one too :happyelf::summersun:

I also need help, every time I launch the game, I get "Unhandled Exception: c0000005 at address 06300000", and I want to avoid modding as I prefer original versions to remakes and enhanced editions, I have tried DEP and all the compatibility modes, please help!
