GTA3 won't launch on Windows 7

Played the first part of intro.. got to Luigi's Girls cutscreen, then nothing.. just paused there for an eternity..

I wish I had documented what did to get it working... But from memory when I wasn't able to download the game, it was when I initially started the download and install process for the bundle. When I installed separately, it worked. Then I ran into crashes after I messed with the graphics options. It just wouldn't launch at all, so I was looking in all the usual steam places for the config.ini (or something like that) files... Only to find they are in the My documents folder... That was odd... Should be just about the only file created there. select it, delete it and it should work (on default settngs). Hope that helps.

Deleting the GTAIII files from My Documents worked, thanks.

Hey any one else having an unhandled exception problem at adress 00006c or something because I searched evrywhere on how to fix it but the only solution for me was to torrent, there is no way else to play it even though i bought it on steam, DEP and any fix you can think of does not work, I can torrent it but I still get crashes and the 1.1 patch wont work because there is no version info in the exe itself apart from that, using resource tuner wont change the version info nor will FIVE tuner so I am stuck, I would really like to play multiplayer.

it worked fine for me on Win 7 Pro for ages.... now i have Win 10 Pro and it says it cannot find 640x480 resolution or something, which is madening crazy as i was running it at like 1920x1220 or what ever :P Stupid thing !!! :-(

I can't get GTA3 to run on Win 7 anymore either. Used to work fine. I have tried deleting the files in my documents folder for GTA 3, I have tried the silentpatch and the ddraw.dll, nothing works. Tried running as admin, and in compatibility modes, no success.

Мда, помогло переименование (читай-удаление) папки "GTA3 User Files" в папке "Мои документы".
