Getting shot at in Saint Marks

At the payphone mission Turismo i keep getting shot at when i race trough saint marks. My car blows up every time. Does somebody know how to not get shot at by the mafia in Saint Marks? Cheats are okay.

you can if you boost, turn that turret backwards and do frequented shots, eventually you'll go very fast. Be careful due to the suspension of the tank. If you honestly think you can't win with a tank, you aint a true gta fan, go pass that mission and tell me how it went.

Basically, you want to change the respective code with :

Some missions may act a little differently. But you can simply make a back up of this file. Then change the code, finish your race, save and replace pedstats.dat with your back up.
