Grand Theft Auto 3, missing MSVCP100.dll

Hello, I need some help with GTA 3. according ot the exe the code excecution cannot proceed because MSVCP100.dll was NOT found. verifying the files does not work and I looked up MSVCP100.dll online, downloaded it and put it in the folder but this did not help. I do not know what else I am supposed to do now.

Are you using Windows 7, 10 or 11 ?

Anyway, you should never download system DLLs from random sites because they can be malicious.

MSVCP100.dll is a Visual C++ library, and came bundled in the VC++ Redist 2010. You should download the whole package (8 mb) from Microsoft and install it.

I m using windows 11 I believe. I used that, I have 64 bit windows 11. and it did not work.

Did you downloaded the 32 bit version ? GTA3 is a 32 bit game, so the 64 bit DLL doesn't work with it.

Yes, but i don't know if i can be of any help. I don't use Windows 11 and don't know if there are known issues with old games.

well, the game runs fine but I wanted to install an xbox feel mod, and everything goes well, apart from two things, the skins becoming screwed up, which I can sort of live with, and the crash to desktop. Not sure if this will fix it.

I have found the problem here. unrelated to the issue I mentioned, but thought it was worth it and I hope someone finds this. do NOT use the particle.txd file to replace the xbox one from 'lite version' folder. That breaks the game.

The skins became screwed because you are mixing the xbox models with the ps2/pc skins, or vice versa.

You can download and install what you want (just keep the correct order and respect the prerequisite for each mod) or download the whole package and follow the installer instructions.
You should use my patch with a clean install of the game.

and no, I m not mixing up the models, the default ones become screwy. The ones that come with the came have odd textures on pants and claudes face becomes like a bug man, his eyes in his cheeks and everything looking quite fitting for a horror game
