Why are the colours for cars broken?

Taxis are too dark, same with police cars. Different to PS2 version.

Nope, Silentpatch doesnt work with Steam's GTA3. Downgrade to 1.0 and get GTA3 reborn or download SteamCarsColorFix.asi for proper colors. Grand theft auto 3 reborn is a mod pack that adds HD graphics similar to the mobile port

Oh it does? SkyGFX and the other mods that are good aren't though, and SP doesn't add Xbox like reflections or the like, it adds certain PS2 features like glowing items and such.

It wouldn't be in their interest right now to spend money to go back and fix a game over a decade old at this point, especially after they tend to break more things after updating these older games.

Silentpatch, Widescreen Fix, and GLinput are the basic 3 mods you want to get this game up to date without any issues, all 3 are fairly simple to install.

SkyGFX is also a must if you like having more accurate graphics to the PS2/Xbox versions. Make sure you get Xbox Cars for HD models, and Skin and bones for Xbox cutscene hands and skeletal animations. All aren't needed, but are needed for a better experience.
