Conquering all islands

Guys I hate to disappoint. I apologize in advance for this for those of you striving to do what I have done. Conquered all territories except Tortuga and King's (the only two you can't claim). But sadly, there is no steam achievement in the game for accomplishing this feat. And really there is no real reward for doing so. In fact, it's more of a hindrance in the fact that there are far less Military and merchant ships to sink for XP and upgrades. They are still out there, but noticeably fewer in number. So this being said guys. let the bad guys have some victory early on. The extra quests and Carpenter addons aren't worth the gold and time invested to manage the whole map.
On a reverse note. it was rather fun trying to get all of the territories conquered before the Merchants and Military could get them back. As far as I'm concerned it's a good goal to strive for. Just know this before you head out. There is no extra reward. Surely you will upgrade your ships, and make a ton of XP. But as for me, I was looking for an achievement. Which sadly was not presented.

figures.... sick of the ue4 kos fatal error when im having big fights....just had it while taking on 5 military ships.....just beat them all and saw god rewards then bam...crash

I found that I didn't even need to actually upgrade any of the towns, once I discovered that when ever you quit to menu and come back all the current pending invasions disappear.

i think upgrading taverns to get more 'sink navy commander missions" to make more of them spawn to farrm for yourlevel orange ability drops is probably one of the only usefull use of upgrading a town.

I found that to be true as well. Another advantage to owning most of the map is you can drag the commanders close to one of your ports if you need a hand sinking them. They can be pretty tough as seeing that they are always magically higher level then you
