IFAIK Cloud saves are supported by the galaxy client, rather than the game. GoG just needs to be told file locations.
Nothing wrong with Steam.

Uhh most games wont let you play unless you are updated to the latest version. Plus why would you wanna limit yourself and be stuck in the past not playing a current and up to date game?
Prices are just fine on Steam. Most games used to be $60 on release for everything lol still kinda is with all non indie releases. Everything doesnt need to be cheap as can be or always discounted... Then makers dont make anything. Developers need their meals too so they can keep developing to keep you people happy.
Its not healthy to always live life so cheap. One doesnt need a million launchers to all do the same thing.
I, my wife, and all our kids are gamers
I have a stack of 40 Switch games, when 1 is played the other 39 are available for the rest of the family
Must have 100 Xbox 360 games, 1 played 99 are available for the rest of the family
I have 98 Steam games, if 1 is played ALL 98 GAMES ARE LOCKED AND UNPLAYABLE, unless I bypass Steams DRM.
I stopped using Steam 7 years back when they released a family sharing system that reinforced that restriction, making it totally useless for cohabiting families.
Since leaving Steam, I've bought 837 games on GoG.
If I'm playing 1 GoG game, all 837 games are freely and legally available for the rest of my family.
Categorically they are not the same thing.
Steam isn't a launcher, its a DRM enabled platform that uses a Subscription Contract to strip you of your ownership rights. I absolutely will not use Steam, and very grateful for Devs and Pubs that give consumers a choice.
If devs. want they don't have to use Steam DRM, plenty of free DRM games on Steam but i totally agree with the family share being pretty much useless in the same house.
Why do you need more then 837 games.... Jesus hell talk about a waste of money. Sounds more like you all need time away from the screens instead of all this game sharing.
But hey thats all you mate. When my family all gets together in one spot we rarely use any electronics :P
"Plenty", not really, not when compared to the size of Steams Catalogue, also you can't filter by DRM Free.
On top of that you still need to agree to Valve Subscription service.
And lastly even if a game is DRM Free, launching it via the default methods (Steam created desktop icon or via the Steam Client) Steam will still evoke its DRM by recording the games Process ID and Locking the library.
Simply I never wanted to use Steam, and am furious that its a prerequisite for the majority of PC games.
There's 7 of us, with different tastes in games, so its a pool of games that any of us can dip into and enjoy. I tend to pick up games on sale I think someone might like.
But sure target a family enjoying their hobby instead of the company that stripped your consumer rights.
Would it be possible to know if you are going to add achievements and cloud save to the gog version ???
Just looked on Galaxy, I've bought the game and while I can't yet install I can see a list of achievements. Again cloud saves are handled by the Galaxy client, unless the game uses some locked and protected file storage it will have cloud saves.
