So, the best way I find is to.

- Include her in the council since early game. She'll trust you this way.
- Don't show yourself as openly hostile to the marriage with the opposition. Be kind to him until the very end.
- In any thing that relates to marriage where she asks. Say it is her choice, ect, and that you'll only suggest some things.
- Try the most positive options generally when talking with her.

Now, crucially. When they ask for your blessing, pick the. " I'd like nothing better than for the pair of you to get married, but." and make the excuse that she needs to go to Pales and it is advantageous that they are single, and don't announce their plans until she gets back.
