Are bribes a no no?

Is there any way to take bribes and still win? Are you doomed to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the bilderburg guy if you take the bribe?

Depends on whether you honour the deal or not. ;)

And yes, you can most definitely still win despite taking bribes - you can even win by being a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (i.e. taking the bribe, then not following through with it - it makes certain things a bit harder but it's definitely possible).

If you want to build your public image on integrity and fairness, yes, a big no-no.

If you have no such scruples, go ahead and take them.

I generally don't and it does depend which police force you choose and who they investigate. It is best not to focus any police investigation on someone who have taken or given bribes to. However I fund the womens' league, the election campaign and that has no impact. Do not fund the Reds or Sords groups as that hits you before the lection, as does sending your son to the Sordland university but I often send to the Sordland university anyway, as you still win if you win the war. With businessman I generally don't take bribes, you can still do what they want and they like you.

I've always thought the Holsord University part was unfair. I thought I wasn't doing anything wrong or corrupt, and I got nailed by it later on, with no real way to defend myself. Still, it was the only blemish of that kind in my administration and I got away with it.

Same here, I lost my re-election for it, but survived the office sex scandal. Go figure.

The HSU scandal weight is very minor. By itself it never hurts your Presidency. It only increases in value if other leaked scandals get triggered.
