this AI ruins the game
not only they're literally cheating like jumping higher and further than me when they're entering the jump at the same speed as me, but they also push you off the track , and have ridiculous speed for no reason

there's this one track that is just unwinnable, i'm like 15th place in the 1st minute of the race, it's just impossible i restarted this race like half a dozen times and it's just impossible to beat the AI's , i'd need to have a perfect landing on every single jump in order to keep up with the 1st AI bot, that is just not possible

this game is harder that the freaking official monster energy game this is ridiculous

upgrade the bike

Practice, go back over the tutorial or what Warlock said, upgrade the bike. I know online that people have the settings to glitch the physics and they legitimately go way faster and take corners and whoops unrealistically quick. Kinda sucks but the games fun as ♥♥♥♥ in First Person

Once you get a feel for it, the AI are actually way to easy even on GOAT. Abuse the clutch boost , you will miss when it seemed like a challenge

Upgrade your bike(tuning) try this tune, I use it for everything: Engine -3(accel), Clutch -3 (boost), Chassis +3 (flexible), Suspension 0, (some like -2, some like +3 I think 0 is the best, this you might have to experiment with), Tires +3 (grippy), Brakes +3 (Hard).

Soon you will beating them by 1 minute a race, on GOAT, and will do what I do and use gimpy tunes to make it more of a challenge. I'm now doing the pit bikes races and man the AI on expert are cheaters lol. But its all a part of the fun. Good luck!

When you actually learn the mechanics of the game. it becomes easy mode.
All you need to beat the AI is consistency. Learn how to flow through any track.

I had the same first impression/experience with the AI.

I am not saying the Ai is particularly well done. They are very much too bot-like and zero mistakes or variation. They are on a written path, and yea thats too clear.
But they are only hard when you are not really consistant with any laps you do.

When you learn the mechanics, you can beat the hardest bots with any tuning setup.

You can smoke the 450s on the first bike you get im pretty sure
The AI is not cheating. This game requires you to know a little bit about motocross and supercross racing and the capabilities your bike has. For example a 250-F can hit a quad like a 450 can BUT one of those is gonna do it a lot easier than the other can.

You have to learn things like clutch boosting, scrubbing, corner entry / exit and pre-loading to hit the same jumps the AI can.

Also the most important thing is not losing momentum, casing your jumps and not being consistent. Consistency is key in every single racing game and in real life.

The AI is easy to beat even on GOAT difficulty. You just need to practice and git gud.

Also Tune your bike.

After playing for just a couple of hours for a few days you are really running circles around the AI on GOAT even without even using the clutch boosting and casing jumps here and there every lap. And I'm far from an avid player of MX games. What am I missing?

The AI is ridiculously EZ but it does cheat. Its on a rail and has extreme rubberbanding like OP described.
Thing is once you learned the game you don't really see it because they are slow as hell
Look at all the "git gud" XBox controller clutching flat-assed chair jockeys up there calling this a sophisticated tunable, easy, predictable when dialed in [in] a pro IRL way, motocross sim! It is toy CRAP. Arcade ♥♥♥♥.

Upgrade the bike, sure! Then it is SURE to ragdoll you on these mostly total fantasy Rainbow's Steel Titan games inspired tracks. If you go down once or twice in even three laps you are done: last place. Last.

Last, so then you make $O money, so you cannot get ahead financially at all. The Squid AI are way too fast and sometimes superhuman is their skills on these outlandishly imagined blind cornered and 'mile high' drop-off rollercoaster tracks.

I spent a fortune on their bike packs. I bought all of the first two years' DLC. It is the most money I have spent, ever, on a single video game. The bikes are are slugs. The upgrades in motocoin are ridiculously over priced, meant to keep you grinding into old age.

You "need" to gain "fans" in career. WTF for ?! I am gaining and losing fans at the 106,600 level and I need 120,000.

The tracks are too hard this time (compared to previous titles they've sold) - they will toss your ass constantly, and with that happening on any race you are a last place finisher, guaranteed.

You get nothing but the reset or return to compound button handed to you. I chose quit game.........uninstall and suck up the loss of alot of money.

This will be Rainbow's last MX vs. ATV title, I predict.

I see miles and miles of locked-up content that I paid through the nose to play on and I am pissed. At the early twenty hours-in point I am done with this game. What a monumental waste of money.

There is no rubber banding in the game. Forza horizon and Forza Motorsport has a concerning amount of rubber banding. If this game has rubber banding I'll be shocked because i haven't seen it. The bots are easy. i said that in my last comment. That still doesn't mean OP needs to learn the game. If they learn the game and git gud, they won't be complaining about beating easy bots.

LOL this sounds like a skill issue buddy. Also if money is that big of a concern for you then maybe you should get a job. Or ask for a refund if you hate the game. Steam has a pretty good refund policy. You crying like a baby isn't gonna help OP get better at the game.

OK. Reading your rant here was truly a monumental waste of time - but you started of hot so i had to keep going..

You must be so bad at video games tho.

There is alot of fun and flow to be had in this game if you learn it.

Yea you must be terrible at this game. I have beat the whole career on a stock 125 on goat. It's not hard at all. Also the dlc isn't necessary and I got all of it for 43 bucks. That's nothing. I'd stop writing essays on the forums and spend that time learning tracks. I think the game is good fun even though I haven't been playing it much lately(been playing iracing). Watch a couple youtube videos. This game is almost too easy so I don't get it.
