This has been requested since the game's release. It's clearly never going to happen.
I was wondering if there was hardbound keys. A lot of games lock you into to using WASD.
According to the in-game settings for controls, there are plenty of controls to customize on the keyboard including steer & lean left/right, brake, throttle, sit & stand, clutch, shifting, stunt and more and even includes an assignment for the bail key. The bail key is not changeable on the controller... maybe because it uses a larger key combination?
The keyboard controls also mention an extra condition like On Hold or While Moving (you customize the key but not this extra condition). Example: Sit and Stand "while moving": you can change it from Q and E, but it retains that "while moving" requirement.
Some keys that require a combination immediately only let you change the first key with a reassignment. Example: Stunt - is a Hold key (by default hold left control). You can change CTRL to another key, but inherit combination keys from steer & lean left/right. So you would have to change your steering and leaning keys if you wanted to change the stunt combination keys.
Thanks. I just wondered about WASD. A lot games erroneously assume that everyone on keyboard and mouse uses it. So if you try to use any other button for forward the game ignores you.
I use the right mouse button (don't ask why), so I have to rebind using macros often. But sometimes it doesn't work.
