How complete is the game?

I know it's early access, but are the new updates adding to the length of the story or just more stuff inside of it? In other words, where will it end if I start playing at the current state? Will I have to restart when more content comes up?

They update roughly every 3-4 months, and most updates require a new save. Not sure about the overall progress though. I do know that this is only the first part of a planned trilogy though, and considering this part of the game has been in EA since like 2018, the overall story won't be completed, if ever, for a very very long time.

first game is mostly completed you can already get ending. what they are doing now is adding some missing branches and remastering ending to much more higher quality

The story itself has been done since november 2020, with the Rastedel Siege update. The rest has been just more random stuff and fluff aka milking Patreons

i ask myself why people still pay them for this.... they have too much money and dont know what to do with it?
