then talk to your wife to pay the castle fee
then talk to the library and the dwarf to upgrade
so i did exactly as you all said. went to game files, renpy, common, 00console.rpy, found config.console and edited it to true (try it in four variant of True, true. 'True' & 'true').
in game, command console does open for all four of them but when i type the cheats that you guys mentioned (avatar.gold 100), game gives me this :
File "<string>", line 1: expected statement
what is this? why cheats doesn't work?
I caution against using them until you are VERY familiar with the game. They are best used NOT to help you get past obstacles but to make the game easier to reach certain 'stages' of completion from a new game start perspective so that you can follow other paths you want to discover more quickly from the start.
If you use these cheats without knowing their effect, you could end up missing many events and situations because you've changed the variables that control them. I've intentionally messed around with such variables just to see what damage it does, and it takes the game from being interesting and playable to being boring and regularly... broken.
The game can't be 'finished' in it's current state and so cheating to get to the end actually robs you of the experience to get there. Yes, there are too many 'generic events' that pop up and clobber your advancement of the story when specific events are available. We have some requests into the devs to change this. If there is a specific event available, the player should never be given a generic event, etc.
Other than those, there is only your experience. If you are super experienced with the game and want to move quickly past some parts, use an online save editor for Ren'py, pick an early save and give yourself whatever gold, stats, etc. you want.
