open from file not working

I haven't been able to come up with a solution for this but the app just refuses to open file directories so I can import images. It doesn't work while opening a project or importing an image onto an already made canvas. I use this application for making video game mods so I kinda need to be able to import files. I checked on android and it worked just fine, only having problems with steam.
Not sure if this is like a common bug, I assume not considering I saw no info online about it. I have a pro subscription so I'm hesitant to uninstall and reinstall.

oh nevermind, I just saved a piece I had already made to an external file and now it opens. I'm not sure what caused it but I did clear my tabs so maybe that messed something up.
