In addition to that I experience intermittend screen flickering and an extremly bright flashing spot from time to time, flooding the entire screen with almost blinding light for a couple of seconds, which might be of concern for people affected by epilepsy.
My partner sitting next to me has the same problem, so it's not just me.
All drivers, firmware etc. up to date.
Happy to know we are not the only two people to experience this.
The vRAM weirdness still remains, the game seems to use more vRAM than before these patches
AND
I have to say that i have still the weird micro black flickering that happens sometimes (on ALL my/our PCs as this happens to both my 2 PCs and my wife as well... so it is not the hardware or windows the issue).
I guess the game act on total vRAM percentage (between 60 and 70% approximately on my tests).
On our Sapphire Nitro 6800XT-SE it takes around 9-10 GB of the total 16 available and on those cards with 8GB around 6GB more or less.
I'm on a 4090 so there should be plenty of vram but it seems something is hitting a limit given enough time. And it's infuriating loosing progress every time it crashes...
It's a shame because I really love this game. Perfect mix of activities all done well.
This happens mainly with UE5 and some UE4 versions of engine.
The only solution is to try your luck and do some reinstallations of the drivers or find some that will luckly not bug out.
Because on every AMD i have tested out (as said on other topics even old ones al togheter with our main cards that are 2 Sapphire Nitro 6800XT SE) we have no issues at all (and never had on every patch till now) beside the Shader compiling that has been fixed with the last patch
It's on a 980TI with 6G vRAM, so most likely it just crashes because of vRAM overflow.
Which is insane when playing the game on the _lowest_ settings.
it's unfortunate i myself wanted to enjoy the game but pushing my GPU more than i'm comfortable with so gonna wait atleast 3 months and see how it's progressed in the optimization department. (i doubt even 3 will be long enough being it's a custom game engine)
You might have hit the mark with that game but this other one might not works the same.
Fact is, all the AMD cards i tested out, the game runs fine, both on very old CPU and decently new. Last day i tested the game using an I9-12900K that is fairly new still today.. and all was fine.
