Now look at us, where we are at now.
My game dont stop crashing, dont even work when i click to enter a world, and the "compiling shaders" happens everytime.
I knew from the begning this would be bad, i just dont knew it would be THIS BAD.
Turning DLSS quality down one notch from highest which resolved mine.
The symptoms for me were random heavy stuttering every few seconds which, if I moved around too much, would eventually crash.
I tried EVERYTHING. Nothing worked for me except for turning Indirect Lighting down to Performance. Running 4k, everything else maxed out, DLSS set to Quality. DLSS set to "Latest" in Nvidia App.
In game, I have V Synch and fps cap turned off. In Nvidia App, I have VSynch set and frame rate capped at 117 fps (I use a 120hz TV).
Same issue, what helped for me is turning DLSS to Balanced. Didn't have this issue before the update. Took me awhile to find the problem.
Windows 11 Home on 9800X3D, RTX5070TI, 32 GB RAM, 1440p, quality preset, DLSS quality and resolution scale at 100 %
In order to complete shader compiling, I had to enter one of the settings menus immediately and just stay there. If I exited to the main menu at any point, it would crash in less than ten seconds. After shader compiling was complete, it still crashed at the main menu with crash dump reporting 'VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST' every single time.
To stop the game from crashing, I simply reset the display settings to default. This adjusts resolution scale to 75 % (1920 x 1080), sets preset to quality except for DLSS which defaults to balanced - but I changed it to quality as well.
Fiddling around, I noticed that when preset is at quality (DLSS at either balanced or quality), and resolution scale is at 100 % (2560 x 1440), the game will crash no matter the anti aliasing method used. However, with resolution scale at 75 % I can use any anti aliasing method at quality preset - including DLSS at quality.
Hope this is helpful to someone and the issue is fixed soon.
