All my stuff is in the mountains now, I get a protection with the pocket heater. But even as the pocket heater has more then 20 minutes on the timer, I just get a countdown from 10 to 0 in the smallest font, and then just die. This happened now 4 times in a row. And I can also not use the pocket heater, because it is still in effect.

Pocket heater only increases your frost resist for 30 minutes. It adds to your overall frost resist. It does not mean you just added 30 minutes to the frost timer. It adds 2 frost resist which is closer to 12 minutes added to your total time before suffering hypothermia. If it hits zero and it is for you then ya you gonna die. You can have 10 minters left on the heater timer and would make no difference.

So no it's not broken.
