|SOLVED| ISSUE trigger - A Black Cauldron for the Alchemist

hey hi, first of all let me say i love this game! i am playing 2 different gamethrough: one is with my friend (i am a guest in her world) and one on my single player world . we are also planning to maybe buy a server.

today i was playing in my private world and found a very bad surprise when i discovered that the quest "A Black Cauldron for the Alchemist" does not trigger :(

i don't know if this is because i have missed something due to the double gamethrough i'm playing but is really frustrating to not have the chemistry table in my world :(

i am now planning to craft the cauldron (and all the stuff) on a public server but is quite grindy and risky at the same time. frustrating is the right word.

i hope someone can help me, i've done some research and seen some videos and nobody mention this issue.

FYI even if the quest doesn't trigger because of a possible bug you can anyway go to the location and get a cauldron, in fact you can get as many cauldrons as you want one after each reset.

Just go to your Journal and set it, it should be there. And being EA i expect such bugs as quests are always a bit buggy to start with. I had to do this for the Blacksmith and his tools which i'm now doing.

no mate, the boss simply does not drop the cauldron in my world :(

of course is an EA and i'm simply reporting, still ove this game.
i have no alchemist's quest pending in my journal

Which quests do you have active in your world atm then? Maybe one of them is a prerequisite for the alchemist one :/

i have "solved" the problem by crafting the black cauldron in a public server with high flame level (6).
not an easy task due to the obsidian.
then i took my cauldron in my world and the quest started by there.

Same problem, what I did was look for a public server with a level 6 flame altar and kill the guy with the cauldron, and on that server the enemy did release the cauldron and then I went to my single player game if I could finish the game. mission, in case it helps anyone

This worked for me as well, but once back in my own map, I had to store the cauldron, then put it back into my inventory to finally get the mission to progress to the next step.

We have a private server... old characters.. and no farmer quest chain that takes us to the cauldron quest. Bugged even to this day.
