Game crashed my AMD GPU Drivers
I was playing, I had been playing for 57 minutes without issue. Not even as much as a stutter. Out of nowhere the entire game froze while I was running from bees after harvesting their hive. After a good 10 seconds the entire game closed and I got a notification from AMD Adrenaline software saying it reset the driver due to an issue. In addition my right monitor entirely lost response to my GPU and I was forced to restart my computer. After the restart the monitor started responding again. The current driver version is 23.12.1. I am also using a Radeon 7900XTX 24GB with a Ryzen 9 5950XT, 64GB Corsair Vengeance, game is installed on an M.2 driver as well as the server I was hosting. The server did not crash.

No I run at 1080p because my monitor and my CPU (1600x) are rather old now.

In addition to 16gb RAM i get 70fps in starter area. This is with most graphics at high and shadows at performance and SSAO to off.
FPS is higher at night and I haven't experienced any stutter as i move through the world map. It stays above 60fps which I'm fine with for now.

If your CPU is more powerful you should do fine but game seems locked to 60Hz so as long as you can get to there it should be fine. I expect performance optimization to come later.

You can always refund before 2 hours have passed of course, in case it runs bad.

Many thanks for elaborating, much appreciated! So, personally I value high framerates over image quality. I'm fine with dropping quality settings to medium/low, but I really sensitive to low framerates. So, I dunno, I have a strong CPU, but 60fps sounds a bit scary, to be completely honest.

Thanks again!

np

The game is fun though but it doesn't run properly. I seem to get the same performance as someone with 4090/7800x3d for example but on slightly lower settings of course so the engine needs work. Once they fix that 60Hz bug that should change.

Plays like a Valheim that doesn't look like ass, has a world/lore and you can build a house within 20 min rather easily. This is a game to keep on your wishlist and see if the devs can get the performance up is what I think about it so far. Hopefully the devs don't bail on the project.

I have a 7900 xtx and opened the game with the fluid motion active, was testing some games to see what it does, the game crashed on start up and never again after disabling it.
(the driver come out today), my real issue is that the game feels too bright/foggy and textures disappears making some parts of the map black with broken purple dots, it seems that the shadows for me are bugged i think.

Did the shader loading failed or something?

I have noticed this issue with AMD across different model cards. My fix was to install drivers only and avoid their Adrenalin UI. It seems like the Adrenalin UI likes to make changes while gaming and messes up the drivers in the process. The features are just not worth installing that software.

No the features are definitely worth it. I mean your fan curve is tied to that software, along with a plethora of other things. I think this game just needs more work. It wasn't ready for release.
Having games crash often at random intervals stating "AMD Drivers have stopped working" is not worth it. I use other tools to control my fan curves. Since doing driver only on all of my family gaming rigs, I have not had a single issue.

But you do you.

Amd just dropped an update a couple hours ago for the gpu drivers in their adrenaline software. I am going to download it and will update further after testing again later. For reference the new driver version is 24.1.1 instead of the previous 23.12.1

Good luck buddy! I plan on picking up Enshrouded for my family on next paycheck. We got into Palworld which has been a blast so far.

I played for a bit earlier and didn't have any crashes although Enshrouded also dropped a patch to fix a lot of crashes.

Ya i've literally had the same issue with my 7800XT. Had a really bad crash just now, screen went black, computer sounded like it was speaking in morse code lol. Guessing this wasn't really tested on AMD GPUs.
Had same issue.
I thought that bt gpu just died

I haven't had the issue since the latest 2 patches or since the AMD patch

Hey I also had this issue same GPU, I think there are a few problems with AMD systems and this game atm. Lowering my graphics did help this go away but do this before you load in because it crashed for me.

I just roll back the driver and fixed everything, i installed the latest amd driver to try fluid motion and worked flawlesly in every game except shrouded, no big deal since we don't really need fluid motion to begin with.

6900XT updated to 24.1.1 is working for me as well. At least it seems to, I haven't actually started playing past the area you load into.

I was crashing on latest 23.x drivers whenever I had set preset display settings above max performance, I couldn't get past the intro cinematic. If I loaded in with max performance past the intro but switching to a higher preset immediately crashed. I couldn't pinpoint which of the settings in the presets was the issue. Tried both with vsync on and off, and setting AMD chill to ensure not going over my monitors refresh rate, but kept crashing.

As per this thread I went ahead and reinstalled to 24.1.1 drivers and now it's working perfectly, I can put my settings to max and everything. AMD tweaks are currently off, VSYNC is off. Max quality settings a bit inconsistent on FPS so I set down to balanced and its running smoothly so far.

I think is a problem only with the 7900 xtx, the area i was right at the start.

I run a AMD Ryzen Vega 64 8gig RAM card with a AMD threadripper. Updated GFX drivers.
Enshrouded runs fine for about 1 hour to 1.5 hours and then out of no where the driver will crash and cause the game to CTD.

I know it is an old card now, but it shouldn't have any problems running the game. I do have a new card waiting to be put in, but I just found out it need 3 power plugs which means a huge overhaul of my rig to get that extra power to the new card.

Is the game crashing at Spires and Vaults for you? There's another thread where we all have Vega 64 and 56s. We all crash in the same areas.
