title saids it all really , ps5 controller connected but ingame all button icons are xbox and under controller settings its all xbox to

go to settings, you have to change the button layout manually

disable DS4Windows and its addons if you have it installed.

Iirc there is a setting to change the layout/look for controllers.

When I select the Playstation option, it seems the buttons are mapped incorrectly. X and Circle are flipped, and Square and Triangle are flipped.
