Event Honor Hall location
I will start simply by saying that this is not a knock on the backers of this game, or those that bought early access. I bought in early access to play this game, and I fully support this game.

That being said, I am not a fan of the grand Hollow Halls-type entrance of the Honor Hall located in the Summits, that houses photography winners, and other notes of real-world acknowledgements. It really takes away from the established game world. I was unaware of what it was when I came across it, and thought it was a place of secrets and treasure. I was actually disappointed, and I was hoping for some plunder, and this took me out of the game.

This type of area should really be hidden away, and not part of the landscape environment. Perhaps there can be a hidden wall behind the very place you began, that has a ladder, you climb up, and there is a floor portal that you step on and it whisks you away to the Honor Halls with all of the regalia that is there now, and whatever else they will add to it. So its accessible form the very beginning.

This way, it is always there, accessible, but it doesn't take away from the actual game environment, so that everything you come across in-game, is actually the game.

Again, this is just my point-of-view.

You entered the wrong building sir.
This building is registered to Keen Games GmbH and we make Hollow Halls here.

Vault-Tec Corporation is the building on the other side of the road.
Thank you, come again.
I agree with OP, it takes away from the immersion of the game to see that thing, i didnt know what it was either, the whole thing is too huge, why not put a little entrance somewhere, at least make it smaller, or optional.

I've also been to this hall of fame and didn't know what to do with it but recognized 2-3 names because they do Let's Plays or stream.

I was thinking “my goodness what did these players do to get such a hall of honor?”
Wouldn't have expected a few photos. I would have thought of a six-figure sum to support the further development of the game, at least.

It would be interesting to know what "and other notes of real-world acknowledgements" means.

There are other locked gates in the hall that, if i remember reading past message-posts correctly, will be opened up with future contest winners, submissions, etc...

I just think that, while I do appreciate everything this community of gamers, as well as the devs, have done, placing this in the game world actually detracts from the experience, taking me out of the game.

But placing this in the beginning, through a hidden wall behind your Flame Sarcophagus-Pod, would be a better place. Again, just my 2 pence.

I never even knew this place existed, and I have had many play throughs. Guess after the Dragon fight I am like ok done until a new update and just haven't explored enough.

Guess will give me a reason to fire up the game again.

*Edit: I have seen the name on my map, just never knew anything of interest was there :)

The entrance is found in the middle of the word HALL on the map.
I just found the honor hall and had no clue what it was. Of course I figured it was part of the game and there must be some secrets in there. After a bit of exploring (time wasted actually) I realized it must be some kind of thank you area for backers or testers. That is fine but don't put it where it can be mistaken for a potentially important piece of the game and an area that needs exploration. I'd have put it at the very beginning, perhaps in the Cinder Vault so that those who backed can be known yet those who are simply players won't get confused and led to believe it may be an area of importance and thus waste their time exploring it all. Just my 2 cents.
ah yes in the beginning would be good or behind a secret door even better, because when you start a game or are exploring most people dont care about it anyways... like i dont care about it 1 bit.. im interested in the game not some small fry that like to get medals...
