Can't farm in Kindle wastes?

Thought I would build a new base in Kindlewastes. Am finding that you cannot grow plants there? Says unsuitable terrain. At least not the plants like shrubs. And it appears that terrain blocks are not in the game? So no way to terraform dirt or farmdirt?

Did you not lay down a big plot of farm dirt? That's what I always grow crops on.

Same, honestly assumed you had to do this and never even tried planting directly in the terrain.

How do you lay down farm dirt? I tried putting it in my action bar, but nothing happens when I left or right click? You can grow without farm dirt where there is grass growing just by clicking down the seedlings.

You use the build hammer and then the terrain option.

Use the hammer. Hit Alt, and scroll all the way to the bottom. There is a soil tile there I forget which number, and then choose the farm soil as the material you want to place.

You can then use the rake to smooth out if needed.

Set construction hammer on active, alt and scroll to terrain, choose terrain size you want, place it. I often edge it with stone walls if small. Happy farming. Be sure to use farm dirt - flower dirt you can not grow plants in.

ahh, TYVM. Was trying to make blocks of terrain with the workbench. Never noticed terrain on the hammer after over 150hrs lol.

When you overuse the rake, the larger terrain blocks will fill in the holes ya made too.

Was able to farm after placing farm dirt in an open area. Though seemed to be bugged when I tried to plant stuff to create landscaping next to the buildings. Would place the seeding and one would be gone from inventory, but immediately disappeared.
