But it has some issues that can hopefully be fixed soon and i dont th ink that those issues are hard to solve.
- hide character model when building
- add lock to object for building so that you can build into one way while running etc.
- add custom deletion blocks that remove certain forms
- maybe limited "record 5 actions" and redo (would be nice for wall decoration etc.)
I think this would solve 99% of problems.
I think one of the bigger issues might be/become the fact that the game seems to save way more than you want it to - for example - if you build a wall with window and a wall on top of that both items exist - i hope this doesnt destroy performance in the long run. The same applys to editing the ground and having gaps not visible anymore afterwards.
Last but not least - there is also a problem with:
- connections of building materials and natural materials
- placement of candles etc.
- not beeing able to overwrite with other materials (for example addint a pillar from another material)
- not beeing able to build with materials from magic chests
- some sort of grid you can enable would be nice aswell to be able to place torches in the same height etc.
And yes many other games do that already - but its way easier to achieve with limited building options and limited ways to change the environment.
Maybe just more practice, then it will work like this one for example (very beautiful inner decoration btw) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpaQUgCr8fA
Not sure about that - not beeing able to overlap also limits what you can build a lot.
I seriously don't get why everyone is so against just adding a "build camera" of some sort in these games. Does it make sense? Probably not. But we can build the things we actually want to build without it being so painful and nearly as time consuming. Valheim building was 10x better with the build camera mod. In Enshrouded, a build camera can just be a "fire wisp" or something of the like to fit the theme of the game and you just fly around in first person mode within the base boundaries or something so you can accurately and easily build the things you want without the need for scaffolding (the most annoying thing to constantly have to build and rebuild in any game).
I would also like to see better thumbnails, since the top surface is sometimes different than the thumbnail.
It's good enough, though. Polish will help.
1) basic = only some basic shapes and everyting only locks on each other
2) advanced = same as now
This could make building more casual friendly while at the same time making building basic forms also faster ans easier for advanced building.
Yes, I confirm, but in my case it is nothing about the complexity of the system.(Im 75 hours into the game, and I know the system pretty well) Yes the shapes are way too many and the menu is not solved perfect, but I can live with this.
The real problem for me is, that there are obvious problems as I discribed in my thread.
The solutions for the problems are:
-First person camera selectable
-no overlapping mode while building with blocks
-a better snapping mode to existing pieces, which snappes where it makes sense in some way
-build where I point the crosshair, in many cases I cannot build where the crosshair is
-and the possibility to build from above
You can even now switch between a "auto lock" (than all basic shapes like fundament, walls, roofs lock on each other) and a "free placement" mode by pressing "X", where you can overlap and place creative?
Yeah but i mean in lock only how it fits - even with autolock my roofs were a mess and required a lot of extra work.
