Speak for yourself. The radiant paladin armor is awesome looking.
And the radiant paladin chest has tassets at the bottom edge that go down to the knees. You almost can't see the pants while wearing both chest and pants. So who cares what the pants look like. Plus, do you know what brigandine is? and what it looks like?
(hint, it's layers of cloth with metal plates sandwiched between, outside just lucks like weird bulky stiff cloth).
LOL. Oh lord, everyone thinks AI is magical now.
"generative AI" just takes random images from other sources, and then tweaks them. And if those images are copyrighted... whoo boy, your company just stepped in it. Bad.
Where's the work product, the preliminary sketches, and documentation you need to prove you created it in house. "Uh, the AI made the art" does not fly as a defense in court. There's already two cases winding their way through the courts over this alone. You feed in certain images, and what comes out the other side looks identical to artwork that was used by another company. AI is also just blatantly plagiarizing written text too. People are getting fired over this.
We had a guy at work last week ask if you could run a series of in house company articles through AI to "organize" them. Didn't seem to understand he was asking to export confidential company IP to an external system, and then re-import it. Someone had to sit down and have a talk with him, since he really really really really didn't seem to get how instantly fired he would be if he actually did that. Fired and sued. This is information so secure, that we can't bring our personal cellphones or any other connected device near it (apple watches, etc). You'd be fired instantly. And he wanted to run it through "AI". LOL.
Uhm, yes ya do. You just dissed the whole art staff. But you don't mean it in a bad way, so it's okay.
Gamez iz nu.
The game has been out for a month, or so. It's an early access product. Plus I can name DOZENS of games where at "endgame" everyone is essentially wearing the same thing. The game was designed for a small group of friends to play together. Probably with the assumption that each player would take on a different role.
Also, since all three of the highest end sets (elder, radiant paladin, and eagle eye) share the same basic color palette and design aesthetic, they mix and match like a mofo. Personally I consider blue/gold/black my favorite color combo. I like the glowing orange/red bits, and the glowing blue crystals on the eldar set. It's like the color palette was custom made for me. Yay me!
I curently use elder helm and gloves, and then radiant paladin chest, legs, and feet. Makes me a hybrid class tanky wizard. I mostly use the wands, so the lack of mana regen concerns me not at all. Staves are an opening salvo at best, though I do the have the mana/health/stamina orbs unlocked from the chain between battlemage and tank skill trees.
I agree with some of your broader points, but it needs to be said for my own sanity: No, this is not how generative "AI" works.
The Warrior Chest and Archer Helmet are pretty bizarre.
