How do people not see this? Is it only triggered to show once you pick up Shroud Spores (which you get from any shroud enemy) or maybe from getting Shroud Liquid?
Whatever it is, go check your workbench under "Storage". If its not there, go get some of the above stuff and it should appear as a choice.
Automatic crafting-stations. (forges, dryers, cookers) still need the mats in THEIR inventory, though.
But maybe, this will also be changed in the future. where you can select tha amount to craft, then. (This isn't possible at the moment. The auto-crafters always craft ALL items available, according to the mats in their inventory....)
So it's still worth to put chests near workstations, regardless if they're magical or not. (I recommend magical ones, though). Especially, because you can't name the chests, yet.
Remember: this game is EA. All things are subject to get improved or changed...
The same applys to many of the decoration items - they should at least have higher stack limits - for example building a long fence with stone fences is rather annoying - the same applys to windows since you constantly have to move them in your action-bar.
Whats even worse are items that dont stack at all - get the idea to some extent - but its really annoying - for example if i want to build multiple wells it would be nice if they stack or at least some sort of mechanic that pulls the next well in the same actionbar slot as the one you just built.
And - complaining about how you have to have the building blocks in your inventory? And have to MANUALLY (I'm shocked, SHOCKED *clutches pearls*) put stuff in the crafting stations that then DO ALL THE WORK FOR YOU? I swear, some people just want a game where all they have to do is press the "any key" and voilá - huge-ass mansion and character on max level, with top tier armor and optimized skills ...
you can make small magical chests from the second you make the world now. OP just didnt look ig
this game effectively does give you all that by the time you're 25 if you're willing to do some chest respawning, and the two players that i know that did this exactly are the two that are most loudly complaining about the game being too easy.
welcome to modern gaming.
this game its easy as fork dont come to talk to me about this game beign hard pls save your face.
we are talking about a QoL the option to take stuff from magic chest when you are BUILDING (i sayd building not crafting...)your base without going back and forward to actually pick the block out
Sounds like they're talking about BUILDING blocks, not just regular crafting mats, lol.
