Enshrouded
don't bundle 30 GB of files into one enshrouded.kfc_data file please, it takes time to patch it, uses additional 30GB of data during patching for backup

please fix this
its probably like that for a reason and isnt going to be changed.
Baldur's Gate 3 for example has a single 130gb file. And every time patch arrives you need additional 130-140 gb of free space just to install update.
Its how most modern games are compiled. Its done for various reasons including game performance and its how it should be done. They are not going to change the way the game engine works for you.

And can you explain why? Just Genuine interest, as this seems such a Hassle to me.

That's not true. I've patched BG3 with only about 10gb left on my ssd

Quite a few reasons. Its less system calls to open one big file rather than lots of little ones. Many file types compress really well like mesh files and putting them all in a big file saves space. Now that games are mostly downloaded from sites like Steam over the internet its easier with large files. Having all the data in a few large packs makes controlling all the data simpler. There are other reason but if you look into most modern engines they all use a few large packed files rather than many individual files.
I don't know where this comes from, but since i turned off "shader pre-caching" in steam settings enshrouded stopped permanentely "updateing".

(steam -> settings -> downloads -> shader pre-caching)
I think this has other issue. This game seems to be quite slow to load even compared to other bigger games that are way larger like BG3. I think that is another downside to the entire game being in one large file. The file likely has to be unpacked of sorts in memory. Maybe it even uses the HD to unpackage some stuff. Either way, the files should be separate like 99% of games.

Most games have separate files for a reason.

Is this Like ARK, where we will have a 300gb File when we don't Clean it Out ourself?

I mean ... Just because Something is easyer dosn't make it better. Or i totaly missunderstand this topic, than i'm sorry.

You dont have to clean anything out yourself. Having all the game files packed together in large files just makes the process of running the game more efficient so the game runs better.
