The reason Shroud Roots get ticked off with a checkmark is because they give you skill points for the first kill. There's nothing special you get from a Flame Altar the first time you visit it.
Other than that I see no negatives on them respawning.
Nice insight. I do not however think the spark reseting is intentional - they reset only when u restart the game, when you play the game they never reset. You can play for 60 hours straight but the sparks never reset. However I can play 1 hour a day and everytime I start the game I need to constraint myself from picking up all the sparks I have already collected. And I hate to play games with paper :(
This is imho not intended behavior, but rather something the developers have a hard time to change as the original aim was to develop this game as server based game (and servers do not restart very often). Also we should not remember, they are still working on player progression AND I do hope, the sparks are counted as playre progression as well.. but I never found any confirmation.
One of my best of all time games was subnautica 1 because the progression is tied to exploration ... it would just feel as a massive lost opportunity for me, if Enshrouded would give up on the exploration immersion as the current state breaks my immersion as it just feels dumb :)
P.S.: I am still talking ONLY about the sparks resetting not about terrain, bosses, chests etc ..
Peace ;)
You will find a lot of sparks as you play more and the novelty of resetting and not making progress into new areas will wear off. Some days I've had to quit to menu a ton of times and the resets and opportunity to revisit places got old really fast. It's neither good nor bad. It's just how the game mechanics work. Cheers!
