“Graphics system couldn’t be initialized”, “No compatible device found” & “Stuck on loading shaders” errors megathread.

Hi guys! Because these three issues keep creating threads, I have made this mega thread to keep our answers all in one place. Despite being different errors they all tend to be fixed in similar ways.

We are looking into this issue so keep the feedback coming. However there are a few known fixes I recommend trying. I will put all the ones I can find in the "answer" for this topic, and edit with more as they come.

Here however is the main fix that you should try if you are experiencing this error, before trying other fixes:

Please first make sure that your GPU meets the minimum specifications for the demo, especially the required 6GB VRAM. See the bottom of our Steam Store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1203620/Enshrouded/

If you are playing on a machine with integrated graphics, please make sure that the system is prioritizing your GPU when running applications. You can do so in the Windows Power Management, Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Catalyst Control Center. I'm having the exact same problem, I try to launch the game and all I get is that error message. I'm guessing the game is ignoring my graphics card and trying to use the integrated graphics instead.

I tried changing preferred graphics processor to my graphics card via my NVidia Control Panel, and it didn't solve the problem. The game also is apparently failing to detect my OS properly, the log file read has my OS listed as Windows 10 despite the fact I'm running Windows 11.

I'd post the log file, but I can't figure out how to copy it here while retaining it in a readable format.

Shaders stuck at 289?

The game never loads and stops compiling shades at 289. I know it's a demo, and bugs are expected, but I was really looking forward to giving this a try. Anything I can do to get it moving?

It seems to be related to driver versions. I'm using an old one to avoid a very specific issue with DOTA 2, so I'm afraid I won't be able to test this game, unfortunately. If you're able to update yours, the general consensus is that it should fix this issue.
