Golden chest farm: Level 35 > 40

So far the best golden chest for level 35 gear I have found is located just south of the Albaneve Summits Hollow Hall.

The red path requires at least flame level 7.
the green path does not, but you will need to sprint or glide through a small patch of shroud.

Fly in from the southern mountain face and land just past the shroud in the valley.
Put down your flame shrine and start farming.

The chest is technically in level 8 shroud but if you land in the corner left of the chest, you are actually not enshrouded

Looking at your inventory, I think I've gotten the best golden weapons in that area that can be had... by pure luck in the first part of that biome.

So far i've seen, your bottom half or even 3/4 can be ignored as it drops low level stuff.

Not looking much better than the chest in Polaris Falls (which isn't Ornate, but is Gold), for a little more hassle. Guide barely mentions the red shroud in the area, and definitely doesn't mention the Sicklescythe guarding the chest, or the narrow gap they flew through for the screenshot. I dug through the roof, it was easier and safer.

Like I said though, the chest in Polaris Falls is easier. Just place an altar on the cliff above (right next to the red wall of world's edge), and glide down (takes a fair amount of stamina though, it's a long way), and hack the palm wood door down, and the chest is in the fireplace/chimney. There's some more or less normal mountain scavenger guys in the floor below, but if you land of the roof, you can look down the stairs and see if the one guy who gets anywhere close is visible.

The sicklesythe is only there the first time around.
Once you place the altar, it does not spawn anymore.
Red shroud is no instant death.
You can easily glide in there loot the chest and log out before you die.
That chest in Polaris Falls has blue drops, mine is only purple and above.
I can do the whole log-in, glide down, open chest and log out in 5 seconds.
Please tell me again how your method is better?

Also for the Polaris Chest, it dropped me a perfect staff for my mage.
The Sicklescythe doesn't attack when you set your world to pacifist and indeed doesn't spawn anymore after you placed the altar.

The chest in Polaris can drop most things this chest has as well, but with a bunch of blue drops diluting the pool, odds of getting what you want are much slimmer.

An alternative to the Polaris Falls chests is a little south from there

You have to hack through granite rubble to get inside.
There are 2 big and a bunch of normal spiders inside.
Once you clear them out and place an altar inside, they don't respawn.
Just make sure the chest is slightly outside of the build radius.

You can even install a grapling hook infront of the chest to make farming faster.
This chest does have blue drops in its pool as well, hence why I kept looking for a better chest.

The spot is actually very decent, thx for sharing. There are 2 "normal" Golden Chests at Stronghold "Iron Heart" (was my farming until now, just wanna throw that in here), are there any other Ornate Chest spots in Albaneve, though?

Nothing against folks who like to farm stuff but I long for the day that some developer decides to use AI to generate nearly limitless unique items and I no longer know what I might get.

I do not find hammering away to try and get one specific item fun, I find not knowing what I might find fun.

use the spider tomb chest. its faster.

once the next zone releases with raised cap repeat because same system will be applied again with some concept unless they finally start addressing thier terrible loot system.
its sad that enshrouded is only about finding the right chest spot to reset currently. kills a large point of the open world entirely. but cannot be helped when devs are lazy and use overkill rng players will find a effective method to combat thier nonsense until changed.

It maybe faster to loot, but half of the loot you get will be blue and therefor wasted atempts.
Going for the initially refered to chest is much more efficient.

You can build a flame altar inside the Albaneve Hollow Halls and farm the gold sarcophagus.
