How do block recipes work?

I've found some really nice houses in Enshrouded and they use wooden blocks I've never seen. I've seen the enshrouded wood, but there's other wooden blocks that look really nice.

I tried breaking them to see if they would tell me what ingredient they would need, but they just drop regular wood.

Are recipes for wooden blocks found or is there something else to it?

You unlock more Blocks by harvesting new resources and doing quests which have new block designs as "reward".

I'd try checking the wiki. Seems pretty comprehensive. I found some new blocks by referring to it.

Cade the carpenter.....hes your goto without finding them , i know one for sure and looks nice as well. but need to build the saw table for part of the material , also good for deco stuff as well.

For all block check the wiki pages.

some of the build blocks don't have quests, hint etc and i found them by happy accident.

after updates now i check the list for new blocks....
because its frustrating when they say there is new blocks but doesn't give locations in game.

you can also use the tutorial book at any time for on the go.
that field guid is very handy you can also pin spefic recipes if yah want to hardcore hunt..

if you in peace mode you can do it any non shroud place...
or in a safe area...

once a block is unlocked if it exists in a build in world alot of the places can be flame base mined with 4m block now.... but for land block id recoomend geting 10 and do a floating 10 block base mine if yah can...
