So... where's the iron ore now?
I had found a couple of sweet spots in the game where I could easily mine several ores, and made bases near them to make it a bit easier to do when needed. Now all of them are missing iron, where before they had moderate veins of ore.

Is it all in the cold biome now, or some other area they tacked on after the last update? A little help please.

Having similar issues, there was a cave north of lapiz that had 2 nodes but they are gone now
Ive managed to find iron, in the shroud however, its called the Ridgeback Mine and it has a shroud root right where the mine is.
Basically just fly southwest from the kindlewaste spire and you will fly straight towards/into it.

You can use https://mapgenie.io/enshrouded/maps/embervale
to search for ridgeback mine

Kind of a strange coincidence I had with a easy to get to salt location right over the cliff from the first base location that disappeared on me .

I think they converted that into just a waypoint tower where you could get above the Shroud, yeah.

I had an altar and everything right at the top of that one, now it's gone.

I've been making this point, or trying to anyway, to a lot of people defending these sudden changes. It's one thing to augment the game, add features, tweak systems. It's another to completely redo the whole thing as if from scratch after a year and a half of so many people having already reached a certain point in the game, and just expecting them all to start from nothing again. It's not the same as replayability; it's more like taking away all of your original players achievements.
Ive been wondering the same damn thing. Been hitting every single location online that people post and nothing. About to lose my mind here as this is the last thing I need before I can move on to the new region.
Literally everywhere in the albanese summits, if not that in the kindlewastes almost every cave passage has 2 nodes near the surface, since they are copy paste, so iron is not a problem, they even made lapis lazuli easier to distinguish from iron now.

You can just follow the smiths quest too, i think if the devs didnt mess that one up he points you to an iron mine.

The blacksmith shows you where to go. I think more will change over time so don't get attached because it is a handcrafted world and alot of things are still missing from it, I'm waiting to see what the giant building on top of the largest mountain there in Nomad Highlands where its south of the pillar of creations becomes. Its obviously a placeholder temple.

Yeah, the blacksmith tells you where to go *to find iron in the shroud*. I prefer to mine iron out of the shroud, like an intelligent person.

You get introduced to iron long before you ever reach Albaneve Summit. When a player is introduced to iron, they are likely in mid level gear at best, not a chance they are going to survive in the snow biome with mid level gear and without frost protection. I thought it was odd to see so much iron in the snow biome considering how the game progresses with minerals.

I do agree on the Blacksmith quest leading you to iron though, there was also a nice spot in Nomad Highlands for Iron but have not checked to see if it's still valid.
I've never understood people saying things like that. People need iron when they first get access to it. By the time they're in albaneve, they probably don't really need it any more, and it's just there for convenience so they don't have to go back to previous zones to get it, like Valheim putting copper and iron in the mistlands.
