How Punishing is it to lose a Spark?

We looted a flame sanctum. My character disconnected because of internet issues, and then when I reconnected the spark no longer existed. =/

The spark will be there again, they respawn, no worries, late flame upgrades require 20 sparks, and late game biomes altar gives you 4 or 5 sparks per flame, that without any alteration in the world creation options.
So its not punishing at all.

Sparks are a dime a dozen - I've got them coming out of my ears.

You may have to relaunch the world to get sparks to respawn, but they DO respawn at that time.

The only thing in this game that can't be acquired again are from one particular enemy in the last area of the game (because they don't respawn). Everything else is technically infinite. And even then, there's a "Public Resource World" you can visit to get things you really feel are being kept from you (or you don't want to waste time trying to get, like enormous quantities of building materials).
