select song?

there are keyboard options for select song, next and previous.
It is not for during the game - is there some kind of jukebox?

Why would there be a jukebox in a land that doesn't have them, and you are the one making music so this is even more confusing for me.

Well, Jukebox may be the wrong term, I give you that...
Maybe a mechanical musician box with a facade, and real musicians playing inside, à la Gilliams Baron of Munchausen.

Put your musical instrument on your hot bar like a tool and then go in front of your fireplace ( that you placed in your base) and play the instrument that you placed on your hot bar..

Ok, NOW i get it. So basically in the game there are instruments like in lord of the rings online right? Haven't gotten one yet.

Yes and they give you a little buff to your rest, though not enough IMO to make them worth carrying.
