NPC and Beds
I love this game, but every time there is an update, they say they have improved the NPC path-finding, and every time it just gets worse. No matter what I do, they insist on sleeping on the floor, and not their assigned beds. The path to their beds is clear. Any suggestions?

It should be that no NPC can climb anything higher than 1 square (keeping them off the beds and chests), nor move in between anything less than 2 squares, keeping them from getting lost behind crafting stations or even walls.

I lost my cat, and only found him when I saw the hunger icon behind my bed. The bed was a couple inches from the wall, and still the cat someone snaked his way behind it and couldn't turn around.

I have exactly the same problem and yes, since the last patch it has gotten significantly worse, where before only occasionally an NPC couldn't find his bed, now all NPCs sleep on the floor, some even right next to the bed only when I use the tool If you put it right next to the bed you will find it exactly the same again next time, which is very annoying. It would be good if it were fixed.

Exactly this. Now all NPCs in my base refuse to find their beds. Sleeping on floor all over the place. It makes you wonder what they were looking at when they tested this 'improved NPC pathfinding'.

Same problem here. Any fix yet?
Es gibt bisher keinen fix dafür, ich habe den Radius der NPC jetzt einfach mit dem Tool auf 0 gestellt dann laufen die zwar nicht mehr herum, aber bis es einen fix gibt, bleibt das jetzt erstmal so.

There is no fix for this yet, I have now simply set the radius of the NPCs to 0 using the tool and then they no longer run around, but until there is a fix it will stay that way for now.
There used to be no problem with npc's finding their assigned bed and sleeping in them till dawn, it was perfect. The only annoying thing they would do was go outside to play peeping tom in the windows. So, I moved the beds away from the wall to keep this behavior down to a minimal, but it was just a can of worms. They would wiggle themselves behind the beds and wall to get stuck; this includes pets. Therefore, I moved all of the objects against the wall and endured the peeping tom behavior.

Next phase: a few of them would use any bed they happened to be close to no matter where else assigned.

Next phase after; some of them would just fall to sleep where they stood, no matter what.
Carpenter would sleep all the time. Had to wake him up if needed to craft.

Next phase after; Most never go to sleep and just drop to the floor or stairs to sleep.

Now only Balthazar will go to sleep in his assigned bed. Loyal faithful Balthazar!

While all the above is happening, I'm moving furniture around, upstairs then downstairs then from one side to the other side of the building. Nothing seems to help. In fact, If I move the furniture upstairs, they start to roam downstairs, reverse, they will roam upstairs. I get the feeling they have an aversion to their beds!

Still have the problem with farmer needing shelter when every spot in that house shows sheltered! She is just bugged out. In the past, I have placed her in my basement so she would stop spamming me. Lately thought about putting all of them in the basement then throw away the key. They all now rush me to spam me since I appear not to be completing quests fast enough for them!

Thank you for listening :)
