How finished is this game?

Can you finish the story?

I have heard somewhere that the planned level cap is going to be 50. The current one is 35. So, in terms of story, it's 60-65% finished. I'd say that the overall "feature completeness" is about the same.

Plenty of content for an early access game.
Networking could use some extra love, but apart from that I was worth its price.

Some mobs are unbalanced, some quality of life features need improving. But if your main worry is the amount of content, then yes, it is fine.

100s of hour of content in game, the world is HUGE

maybe 45% of the map is still locked. so the story is not finished.

but if you enjoy survival minecraft you will have a good time.

I agree with others who wish there was an option to actually do what the story implies we are to do - to spread the flame and push back the shroud, perhaps even totally freeing the world from the shroud at the end. I know the arguments against this, so that's why I say make it an option, perhaps as a new type of game save. Because in its current state, it feels like Groundhog Day the movie.

Thankfully I enjoy exploring and fighting enemies, and this game offers plenty of that.
