Two Things Greatly Needed
We need to be able to make ourselves transparent when building. And maybe even the object we use using that's blue just so we can see. It's so frustrating trying to figure out if I'm lining up my stairs or whatever next to my second floor for an example.

Second thing I think the game needs (unless it already has it and I've missed it) is villagers gathering materials for you. Coming back home and being greeted with supplies would be awesome. Make the game less tedious.

Bonus thing needed, creative mode. Being able to toggle this thing off and on in setup in the world's settings would be awesome. I get wanting to do something all legit but I have 3 kids, full time job, and doing painting and writing on the side. I just don't have that kind of time anymore lol.

Switching to first-person view would achieve the same thing. I definitely would like that, as I too am frustrated when I'm in my own way.

ESO has something like this. It's random what your person / people acquire for you, and there's an item cap per day, but it's still a nice little feature. I feel like I've played other games with a similar mechanic, but I can't remember off the top of my head what they are. Though Dragon's Dogma has companions that follow you and will gather both supplies and loot while your party wanders the world. I sure do miss having an NPC companion or three!

Yeah, having companions would be nice. I never got how after Torchlight having a pet that will go sell your junk items yet didn't get picked up with Diablo or Path of Exile. It was such a great feature.
Yeah, they really need to improve the blue color of the object you want to destroy, very often I destroy / pick up something else...
