Still terribly optimized?
How can I not get over 60fps with a 6750XT?? I bought the game on release and still can't play it after spending hours tweaking with the graphic settings....

Out of curiosity, have people checked to see if this game is GPU or CPU limited? I ask because sometimes it's the CPU that holds a game back, like X4 Foundations. Where this is a voxel game, it plays by different rules than a traditional game, especially when you have a ton of assets on the screen.

Personally, having played this for awhile on a humble 1660ti (and a laptop version at that), I really don't feel it's "terribly" optimized. It's probably not optimally optimized, but I don't expect it to be in EA. Being EA, I also wonder if there is debug code enabled to help the devs find those elusive computer bugs before making the gold master. A debug / test build is inheritance slower than the final release build.

It still occasionally hangs for a sec or two. It's better than launch, but those freezes get you killed if your jumping or something when it happens.
Disable the FPS counter, set the graphics settings to default and play calmly, yes, somewhere it may lag a little, but no more. And it doesn't matter what FPS, the main thing is that the game in general almost does not slow down. Personally, I have this on the 2070s
It seemed to look okay towards launch even if it was a bit of a resource hog but every major update over time seems to make things worse. I just tried coming back to the game again and not only does it look horrendous now for some reason but the entire game crashes regularly for me. No idea what the deal is but probably will be giving up on it despite really liking the gameplay and world.
Let's see Stalker 2 that 6750xt would get 38fps at 1440p Native ultra settings no ray tracing. Same settings God of War Ragnarok 54fps, Warhammer 40k space marines II 52fps, Jedi Survivor 54fps, cp2077 56fps, Alan Wake 2 45fps, RE4 41fps and i can go on and on. The gpu is equal to an RTX 4060 except AMD gpu will be worse with Ray Tracing.

All you can do is lower Global Illumination or Indirect Lighting they seem to call it in game. That and use FSR 3 or DLSS. And ofc try 1080p as a last resort. But yes the game requires a beefy gpu. I'm sure it can use some optimization. Even i turn Indirect Lighting down to High with my RTX 4080 as below.

And Captain, cpu useage is minimal as shown in above pics.

Onyx, only thing that looks horrendous to me is the icon background on the tool bar. I hate stuff that's blurry or out of focus. And game is extremely stable here.

Performance is fine.

Absolutely not, the game cannot run at 4k on a 14th gen intel OC and 4090

Agreed 13900kf 7900XTX oc can not run stable at 4k, better off scaling down to 2k and using a reshade to fix the bad lighting. Yet I can run Soul Mask and Pax Dei, both EA and UE5 at 4k no problem. For level of fidelity this game has and the very lack luster character models one would think 4k 120 fps would possible but no, not even 60 fps. Upscaling is needed and makes the game kinda fuzzy and ugly, as with most upscaling. Sad devs rely on FSR and DLSS so much these days.
I see this in a lot of games, most people complaining about performance being trash are those that are pushing the boundaries as always, this is not me saying thats your fault, is just a fact, i think hehehe.

So potatos PC like mine ran this game for more than 500 hours and had zero issues, i mean zero, no CTD, no BSD, nothing, not even a stutter on the crowded areas.

So imo go down a notch, ditch the 4k full on all the crap you can turn on on the settings and go down until it works flawlessly, that is until the devs finally fix it and you can play with all the bells and whistles your humongous PC can support.

Same here, enjoying the game immensely at 1080p. Now if I want 4K @ 60 fps, I'll just plug my laptop into my OLED TV and use its very good pixel and motion upscaler.

I still wish it didn't turn my laptop into the surface of the sun, however (ie - heat due to pegged GPU all the time). My machine might be a potato compared to many listed here, but it normally runs cooler and quieter on the vast majority of other games I play with similar graphics.

Simply running the game at my monitors native resolution is not "pushing the boundaries", literally nobody asked for every game to use volumetrics or shadow mapping that in normal gameplay will not be noticed compared to time-tested and optimized methods of building visuals.

For people who are playing on large monitors this is an exponentially larger issue. My main concern is that the game runs at a proper resolution and I would accept any visual downgrade to achieve that. Unfortunately this game cannot run at 4k lowest settings.
Yeah, yeah. The game feels better than it did a year ago, but it's still not what it’s expected to be.

Also, I don’t think the poor performance is related to the CPU, because most of the time my GPU is at 99% utilization. I’m using an RTX 3070, by the way. In my house, the FPS is around 80–90, but in some regions, it drops below 60.
Perhaps the people with 13th/14th gen intel CPUs need to look into the known issue with them that cannot be fixed? Enshrouded takes up less than 1% GPU for me at all times.

I am running Enshrouded on a 4k 49" ultrawide on Balanced setting with a stable 60 fps when playing solo, using < 1% GPU (RTX 3080) and an average of 16% - 22% CPU usage (10th gen i7).

My FPS fluctuates between 50 - 60 when playing with others, but it seems to be a universal dip and not based on number of players.

Also, I typically have a GPU-intensive idle game running in the background at all times, so perhaps this might be contributing to lower than what is possible.
Not intending to do a "works for me", but with all the posts about not being able to run 4k on much more capable hardware than I have...

I have a 5800X, and a 6800 XT, no overclock, 32G of some unknown memory, and I runs 4k at quality settings just fine. It's running at around 45 FPS, which is fine for me.

Switch to performance and I get 80 FPS, but it looks worse to me, and I can't tell the difference in FPS.

Maybe the game runs better on AMD?
I have an AMD Ryzen 9 12-core processor, 4070ti and 128gb DDR5 ram.
I may be mistaken with what I'm talking about, but in my game, everything is at highest settings being put through a Sony Bravia 8 4k OLED tv and the Razer Cortex app I have tells me I'm getting 121 FPS average. I never have slow-downs or any problems.

The only problem I've experienced is upon exiting, I get some stupid "AppLock.exe" error.
It makes the screen go black for a while then it comes back. I'm not even sure if it's actually Enshrouded causing it (cause I've been playing only it for a long time.)
