They have posted teaser videos over the past month. They can be found on Discord, Youtube, Tiktok I think. So they have covered the social media aspect. Though they should be posting here on Steam also for those who don't use other social media forms, Steam is where we got the game in the first place. Valve provides a forum plat forum for devs too use, they need to make better use of it.
As for information, the teasers are just small glimpses into what is coming/ to be expected. All the information will actually be available when the update drops via patch notes. This is how they have done it since day one.
This.
All too often, lately, I'm seeing devs ignoring Steam, which seems to me to be incredibly short-sighted. This is where players come to discuss the game, because it's where they bought the game. It's also where potential new customers come, because it's where they'll buy the game.
The money is right here... and a dev who is responsive to the Steam forums for their game gets rewarded with a rabidly enthusiastic fanbase.
Discord is an unrelated third-party app that encourages echo chambers and trolls, and many players (myself included) don't want to interact with what we see as toxic.
As for Enshrouded's reddit, well the Mods over there have a god complex and are quick to ban anyone and everyone, even when they're trying to help the community. The Mods/Helpers on their Discord had that problem a while back but I sense they were all told to dial it all back, quietly behind the scenes, as there hasn't been a huge amount of activity from the 2-3 regular offenders there.
Then onto Steam's forums. I feel like there's been a huge lack of Developer response here on Steam over the past 1-2 years and it's getting worse. It's not unique to Enshrouded either. I feel like Devs only care about posting/responding on 2 total platforms, Discord and 5hitt3r. How anyone is still on the 2nd site, especially a German or Polish company, is beyond me.
The above comments aside, I also feel it's disingenuous to state that Keen isn't posting about Enshrouded's Updates because they are, even if that's on platforms you or I don't like or frequent. But since we all work 3 jobs these days just to afford Gas, Eggs and Rent, we'd all like to know exactly when new content drops (date and time) so we can juggle life around it as best as possible.
I dont use any social media, i dont follow anything, anyone ..
I have reddit account i havent used in almost a year but once i found out that the dev is active there and posting stuff, i joined .. though i still dont use reddit so unless i go there actively look for something, i still miss everything
The things i know about the update is because i googled and found something elsewhere .. but as you can see here on steam, almost nothing.
I remember when I was tester for D4 for years and like 90% of updates and changes they posted elsewhere .. not even on their Blizzard pages, launcher etc ..
When you have so many accounts and sources for one single information, you will have problems.
But thru out the years i have found that 80-90% of world population cannot actually properly communicate so .. it goes hand in hand.
Sadly as i said to the person above the steam form is just pure toxic at this point. people attacking demanding and being down right rude.. devs avoid is like a plague.. They post on Steam after with the update patch notes and even those sadly get toxic because of the people.
and the cap wont go to 50 right away. itll go to like 40 or 45 with water biome and then 50 in 1.0 with final flying castle region.
the update hopefully finally adds a new glider. one is overdue by now. been 18 months since launch with phantom glider nearly.
but dont expect much from this update. the fokus beeing visuals mainly and a few new enemy types is already telling that you shouldnt expect meaningful gameplay changes. but i hope i am wrong on this one.
Exactly.
All of you need to put your phones down and breathe.
As long as people come, you will have toxic people. Thats kinda the universal rule.
Fun fact .. today, you have the most amount and smartest people ever lived together on this. The total amount is very low, but its kinda interesting.
And the more people come, the more toxic people there will be .. though in percentage it will stay more or less the same.
I never understood the needs to change anything for toxic people only because there were many ..
A million bad people is a million, but if in percentage its not even 1% of people in total, it means nothing. And if someone starts making rules based on real numbers and not total numbers, well, you suddenly turned 90% of people against you.
Its not rocket science.
You are taking it out of context and butchering the meaning.
And funny you said put down phones .. I learned about this update, its content and release date via tiktok .. i dont have tiktok, but the video was shared on youtube and thats how i got it.
The information in that shared tiktok video are not here on steam, are not on youtube in original format, only repost, its not reddit .. so if people would put down the phones, i wouldnt even know about it.
I am on PC but the only reason I know, is because of phone people.
But I understand its hard to keep up with everything when you need 30 accounts to keep "everyone" happy .. though i would start with pages where the game is sold.

And this doesn't just happen with Enshouded, but many other games suffer from this constant stream of complaints from people who never click on the "news" section of the discussions or they don't look at the news section in their Steam launcher for the games they play.
I usually first learn of Enshrouded news from my Steam launcher itself before even seeing it elsewhere. The fact is that if someone doesn't look for the news, they aren't going to see the news. How do the developers communicate upcoming teasers and release notes to someone, if said person never actually looks at them?
You can't blame the devs when you don't actually look.
